"An exhilarating blend of precision and anarchy, rigor and bedlam."—The New Yorker
With innovative multi-genre original productions, sensational interpretations of modern classics, and an "exhilarating blend of precision and anarchy, rigor and bedlam," (The New Yorker), Sō Percussion has redefined the scope and vital role of the modern percussion ensemble. The group—comprised of Eric Cha-Beach, Josh Quillen, Adam Sliwinski, and Jason Treuting—visits Berkeley with four West Coast premieres, including a new work by Vijay Iyer, music director of the Ojai at Berkeley 2016 music festival. "Through a mix of consummate skill and quirky charm, this mercurial quartet has helped to ignite an explosive new enthusiasm for percussion music old and new" (The New York Times).
