Artistic Literacy for All
As a key pillar of Berkeley RADICAL, our creative residencies, public events, and educational activities promote artistic literacy as a form of meaning-making on a par with language and numerical literacy. These programs support student and adult audiences in situating themselves in an artist's process in order to engage and connect with each work of art both on its own terms and in relationship to their own individual life experiences.

With each season, look for new ways to engage with the ideas that have guided the curation of our artistic programming. You'll find the groundbreaking artistic innovation and creative process on the stage reflected in free participatory events such as pre- and post-performance gatherings, master classes, artist talks, symposia, and more. Join us as we stretch the reach of Cal Performances in new directions, exploring the dynamic intersections of creativity, arts and learning.
